単音弾きは、他の弦を鳴らさないようにするので、弾く弦を確実にピッキングしなければいけない。弾く弦は常に同じ弦だけではないので、6弦～１弦の位置をわかってなければいけない。慣れるまでひたすら練習となります。
ダウンピッキングだけで弾くこともあればオルタネイトピッキングといってダウン、アッを交互にピッキングするものがあります。使い分けはプレイする曲によって変わります。両方のピッキングプレイを習得しましょう。
正確に、丁寧なピッキングを意識して練習しましょう。
